last summer I tried something a little different, I had one of my roosters in a 7x7 pen by himself and when I had a broody I didn't want to let hatch I put her in with the rooster by herself. He harassed her until she lost all interest in brooding.

Then go out and buy a smaller foldable wire crate
and some 1x2" cage wire for the bottom.
Good tool to have for any chickeneer.

Hubby starts a new job with Amazon on Monday and a smaller wire crate will be my first paycheck purchase!
