At what age can rooster fertilize eggs?

We have a couple of 4 month old roosters that have been doing their job for several weeks now. We have observed them mate with the ladies several times. Now one of our hens has gone broody and is sitting on 6 eggs. The only way to really tell is to candle in a week and see if they are fertile, but we don't want her to sit that long if they aren't. Is the rooster old enough to fertilize them?

If they are 'making contact' and not just going through the motions, the eggs will be fertile. Take an egg, not one she is setting on, and check for the blastocyst or 'bullseye' that is evident in fertile eggs to determine whether or not they are getting the job done. My bet - they are.
