At what age can you tell gender by quack?

My 6 week old babies have started to quack, but still make baby sounds too. I want to know if I have males or females.

I have one cayuga, one khaki campbell, and one mallard/rouen.

Our mallard/rouen is working on feathering out and we have noticed that it has a white ring starting to form around it's neck. Does this mean male? The white ring is mostly downy feathers.

Is sexing by quack different by breed?

My last 2 started quacking at 4 weeks. A welsh harlequin and a blue swedish. It started out sounding more like a honk, but it was definitely a quack! They are both girls I just incubated some of there eggs and got the sweetest little ducklings... Sorry I got carried away.

I don't think sexing by quack is too different by breed. I think over the next few weeks you will know it when you hear it. Males also have that cute up curl at the end of their tail that females don't have.
