My state exempts NPIP paperwork, therefore is allowed into the state.

What state are you in? There is no state that does not have import requirements for hatching eggs. The way that I would interpret "exempts NPIP" means that if it is NPIP, it can come into the state. It does not mean that it allows import without NPIP although a very few states do allow import without NPIP certification but require a Veterinarian Certificate of Health in its place. Some states even require an import permit.

I agree, you would have much better luck with broad breasted poults. It sounds like they fit your description of how much you want them to weigh in 6 months.

I just couldn't afford their hatching eggs right now, but it's okay.

I completely understand that, that’s why I would recommend purchasing poults next time or try to find someone with hatching eggs that are local.
