At what age do chicks dodge the "Cocci bullet"?

I've only lived here two years so I'm always a little confused when people do the "909" thing... Yep, San Bern County is a total crap shoot, but I like Corona and Norco. I moved here from Thousand Oaks... I guess paying $2 million for a house on a half acre is out of my price range...
I actually do know some Larsens. I work with an Eric Larsen and his daughter Erica Larsen. We actually pick on each other because my maiden name is Larson (Swedish) and we do the Swedes vs. Norweign thing.

They are in Lake Matthews.

I feel very fortunate to have a vet that is reasonable and understands chickens. He charges $7 for a fecal. I took one in this week and it showed up with spirochetes (new one for me. Disease is Spirochetosis). The medication was $7.50 for three birds and I didn't take any in. He will also answer questions on the phone (if he is not real busy).

He will put a bird down for $5 (no office visit), and dispose of the body for $15 if you do not/cannot/don't want to dispose of the body yourself.

The cost usually depends on where you live and what type vet you go to. I understand avian vets are pretty expensive, but they are specialists.

My vet treats dogs, cats, farm livestock and some exotics like lamas, etc. His associate mostly treats dogs and cats.

The first vet I contacted charged $15 for a fecal and it was read by a tech, not the vet. He didn't treat livestock either.
