At what age do chicks lose their cheep and sound like grown ups?

Still cheeping? But it must be nearly 12 weeks old or so! That is ages!
My chicks (there are 4) started sounding less like cheeps and more like a rusty door being opened at about 12 weeks. They are almost 14 wks now and still do not cackle. I have one that I still don't know if it is a he or she for sure. No crowing though, so all is well.

Does a jr cock crow if you already have a Rooster? Just curious. No crowing from him yet. Maybe he will keep quiet knowing that is Dad is watching and listening all the time. Glad he has not bothered the little one.

every one is different .. usually if theres more than one rooster one will dominate the crowing but they'll all do it, and ive had some instances where a second rooster assumes almost an entirely feminine role but the problem is theyre bigger than the hens and will bully them for food .. makes them a big worthless waste of food that serves no purpose lol .. unless you want to throw him in a pot for dinner maybe lol ..
