at what age do quail start flying?

my quail are suposed to be 2 and a half weeks old...my only a&m quail decided to fly out of his cage while i was feeding them... luckily it was in my bathroom... not fun trying to catch the little booger... I was wondering if maybe its older

nope at 2 weeks they are flying easily that's normal I clip wings or pinnion them at that age for that reason

thank you... I was wondering its the only one doing it... soon they will be outside and I don't want any little escape artists...

Mine started flying out of the brooder when i would open the top hatch, and they were only 9 days old. Its like very popcorn, one starts to fly, they all try to fly, have lost up to 6 at one time that got out of the brooder, i didnt want to slam the top down on them, so i just lowered the top slowly and picked up the chicks off the ground, they didnt struggle!!
