When did your quail start laying?

Yeah they are. I have several different aviaries, and this bunch is the weird group. 6 females and 1 male. I swear the male is a gal pal. He has no interest in mating the females even when he's 8 months older then them. I might put another male in and add the other one to the soup pot.

His age might actually be a factor in his lack of interest. Commercial breeders replace their males at a year old and their hens at about 18 months. That's when production starts to drop off.

I don't have quail yet, but have been thinking about getting them. What type do you have?

Interesting....I have never seen him mate the ladies he's been with at all and I put up cameras to see and nothing...
