There's LOTS of variables to this question! You can get your answer by going on the basic BYC search and asking each question;

"When do Welsummers lay"

Do that for each breed you are looking for.

In general all chickens average laying between 18-24 weeks. A very few earlier, a few as late as 32 weeks!!

Look for comb and wattles to turn red (not pink) and for squatting for you. Usually eggs will begin within 2 weeks of squatting.
