At what age would a khaki cross drake become sexually mature and actually mount our girl duck?

He is around 10 months old. The duck is 7 months and has been laying for two months or so. She started fairly young.

at that age i would think that he is able to reproduce now

Definitely old enough to mate, especially if she is laying eggs.

Any clue on why he wont then? He did have a calcium deficiency when he was a duckling. Could that stop him from mating, he does everything else normally.

he may be mating and you just have not caught him in the act yet

I would say that most drakes mature in the spring when they are about a year old, its pretty early in the season for him to be interested. Drakes are a lot more active in the spring. Give him a couple more months and he'll likely be plenty active about it all.

Oh! I just noticed you are in Australia... in that case I'm not so sure, but most of my drakes begin to be interested when they are about a year old, which would be spring as I don't hatch other times of the year. I'd still say its early yet. He might be late maturing if he had health problems.
