Ate My First Quail Egg Today :-)

I had some boiled quail eggs and we were eating them with some relatives that came to visit. I had our lovebird on my shoulder and my cousin bit into one just as the lovebird chirped. OMG.

It was so funny. No one had any idea what was going on, but she made a comment that it wasn't funny then explained what happened. We were all dying of laughter.

She did eventually eat more. I was worried that it ruined her for life on quail eggs!

I used to work at a cafe and I sold my quail eggs there hard boiled, to my surprise it was mostly children that wanted to try them also mexicans seemed to like em. The one question I got the most and it really is such a stupid question, "what do you do with those?" it was always hard to answer with a straight face.

coturnix eggs are ADDICTING to eat hard boiled! like eating a bowl of popcorn or chips...can't eat just 1.
they have a "creamier texture /taste to them IMO a bit milder and maybe a touch sweeter than chicken eggs.
Little kids DO think they're wonderful! it's the size and the speckles that attract the children.i supply a few families with them for their kids who USED TO hate to eat breakfast.
