What I don't agree with is the prevalent attitude of, "I believe in God and I know Him," which can give the impression of being somehow better or more righteous than others. Like, I'm a special child of God because I am a believer.

I always wonder, what about indigenous people in third-world environments, who never have the opportunity to learn about God? Are they not special, too? It's not their fault if they never saw a Bible or never went to Sunday School.
Is that a rhetorical question, or can a person with an opinion answer?

Anyone watch these Jubilee vids?

I think as long as you've acknowledged that what you're offering is an opinion your input is welcome. But I'd appreciate it if you didn't assume that the religious person has a better understanding of God than the pygmy does without explaining why that might be.

Dropping in! 🌊🏄‍♀️
I saw this topic a few minutes ago and went Right on! I have also seen some of the Christian posts and threads and well... embarrassing IMHO and I think some may know what I am saying...
I too was raised in the church and am so sick of people waving their holier than thou God flag (and poles) at and to others. Seems many organized religions have gone astray and are giving organized religion a VERY BAD name. Enough to scare decent and very spiritual people away from even exploring or ever being curious about that form of spirituality.

"Jesus said: If your leaders say to you 'Look! The Kingdom is in the heavens!" Then the birds will be there before you are. If they say that the Kingdom is in the sea, then the fish will be there before you are. Rather, the Kingdom is within you and it is outside of you."

"the Most High does not dwell in houses made with hands."

"The Kingdom of God is inside/within you (and all about you), not in buildings/mansions of wood and stone. (When I am gone) Split a piece of wood and I am there, lift the/a stone and you will find me."

Seems to me this Jesus guy was a pretty cool dude who would agree with many tree huggers and bird watchers who do more as he intended and may even turn a table on the others. IMO the organized religions have turned something pure and beautiful into something rather ugly- especially the last 5 years as we all have witnessed. So, I have nothing for the hypocrites except for my pity as the meek shall inherit the earth.... maybe... maybe not. But I do believe in love and I believe in balance -aka karma- and I am pretty sure something is going to be pissed that so many hypocrites have taken his name in vain, trashed each other and this beautiful gift of a planet. I also believe in grace and nature and kindness. Seems that is enough 'religion" for me because the big churches have become insane so.... who in their right mind would want to follow than into the wilderness to be raped and fleeced?
And that is MHO and do with it as you wish. I am not saying this on the "christian" thread so "don't tread on me!"
