Attached to the egg

Its the umbilical cord that is attached to the chick and the egg. How long will it take to fall off?

Don't worry about it some break right away some take an hour or so. If it bothers you to much or seems to be giving the chick a difficult time crush the shell but don't try to detach it

My fittest incubator hatch of the year had it's umbilical after hatch too. It was tugging around about half the shell. It was really funny to watch. I think it went in for at least 30min or more before I went ahead and crushed the shell. I don't know how long it toted it after that but it want long. I had 1 in my secind hatch though that got the shell piece with the umbilical stuck up on its back, the umbilical had dryed right over its vent so that one i had to do a little cleanup to clear the vent

New chick has the same problem. How long will it take to fall off? (it has been attached for 3 hours.)

How's your humidity? I know mine would spike to 80+ when a chick hatched. Maybe if you try to get the humidity down? Back to around 60-65%.

Biggest thing is you don't want to pull it and cuase any bleeding. If its dry you could possibly cut it if you feel you need to buy don't cut it if its still moist or soft there might be blood in it still.
