Help! One of my chickens was attacked by a falcon this afternoon. I’ve cleaned her wounds, mostly just scratches but there are a couple spots I’m concerned about. Right at the point where the wing come ya to the body and a puncture just in front of the wing. I’ve flushed with saline and applied triple antibiotic ointment to it, I also put a bandage over the puncture to protect it and keep the feathers from sticking to it. Is there anything else I should do? Do I need to start antibiotics? Should I super glue the skin together to help the wound heal? We’ve never had anything like this happen before so I’m not sure what to do and I don’t want it to get infected!

I lost a hen to no worse wound then that. What I learned in caring for her was to keep it clean and put antibiotic lotion on the wound, like neosporin without pain killer. Watch for fly strike. My Ethel was struck and I put her in an epsom bath to kill off the maggots. That worked for that. Ethel was attacked by a bald eagle. The only thing I can think of is the puncture was way deeper than I could see.

I sure hope your chicken survives this. They do survive so many things. Someone on here said something profoundly true of chickens. They are very resilient...and fragile.
