Now to keep them safe from predators do you don’t have to go through this again.
Yup, I'm keeping him in a pen at night until I know he can fly, but unless he can't I'll probably dismantle it since I'm using a dog fence that's my rabbits' run. If he can't fly, I'll make a permanent coop for him.

Right now while he's healing he's also staying in our fenced backyard where I can keep an eye on him, but once it heals he'll get to roam in the open area behind our house during the day.
 
I totally forgot to mention here that the drake's back has healed nicely! This pic was taken a few days ago, I just never shared it.

I've noticed hes a little skinny, and like I've said in other threads we've been feeding the ducks scratch grains (I previously did not know that wasn't the best for them as the only food source) and I was trying to finish the bag...since we're almost done with that, we'll get some all flock to transition them and hopefully put some weight on him...
