attacking one chicken and eating eggs?

I am having the same problem. We have tried mustard, dish soap, golf balls & watching closely. They are all eating the eggs (except one) even the rooster. I was watching today and they were all on top of the hen laying and eating the egg as it came out. I don't know what to do. My husband says cull the flock and start over.
In a worst-case scenario, that is often the only remedy.
I've dealt with egg eaters many times and was usually able to cure it before the habit formed and they taught the whole flock. In the end I didn't have to cull anyone but I came close. The more I dealt with it the more I was prepared.
It usually starts with a broken egg for whatever reason. Then a taste, then purposely breaking to access the tasty treat. Then other birds watch and learn.
Roll out nests are an excellent remedy but they aren't cheap or easy.
Maintaining shell quality through nutrition to prevent thin shells is the first defense.

What are you feeding? Have you tried a higher protein feed for long enough to replenish their systems? Do you have an extra source of calcium?
