Attempting to hatch eggs

I can't hatch eggs! I am on my third incubator and my best rate is 50%. If the egg has been shipped I get nothing! So I put in 30 of my own eggs. I rinsed these eggs off. With a hatch rate on my own eggs of 50% what can I lose? I could get eggs from someone that hatches at 80 - 90% still get less than 50%.

I am running the incubator at 42% humidity and 99.5 - 100. Three weeks is a long time! I rinsed the eggs to see if bactria was killing the chicks. Why are the chicks failing to hatch? Fully developed dead in the shell they don't even pip.
It is very dry here. The dry hatch method did not work. The couple of chicks that hatched were weak, small and died shortly after hatch.

I think your humidity is way too high. That would be my first guess. Have you tried keeping humidity about 25%-35% until lock down? I'm so sorry you're having trouble. Good job on persevering.

I tried in the 30s but they were small and sickly. I bought 2 dozen BLRW's eggs only 2 hatched. I also hatch some of my own none hatched. That is the hatch I used the low 30's. I am in a high desert. It is very dry. At 40 - 42 I get a 50% hatch. A local person told me to try 42%.
Thank you so very much for your help. My first incubator was styrofoam, second king suro, third gqf sportsman. It's the sportsman that I get the 50% from. My own are rir's.

Have you read this article? I'm not sure, but it sounds like hatching challenges at your altitude is probably really normal. It may just take a lot of experimentation to find the right method for you. It sounds like 50% hatch isn't as bad as it sounds. If you start there and make changes through trial and error, you'll become an expert. i wouldn't keep switching incubators though. That's just another variable to throw a wrench in your operation.
