Attention WHIZBANGERS! Question

I have completed my plucker ...YEAH.. and it did its job on a chicken perfectly but we built it with a 1hp motor as suggested so we can do other fowl ...and when we put a goose in there it stalled the motor out. The motor tag states its a 1hp induction motor. I picked up two motors at a garage sale for $5 this being one of them and the other is a 1hp motor but it is about 1/3 again bigger in size. Is there a difference?

Any suggestions?

maybe I should gear down the drive more. Currently at a 2 in drive pulley and 16 in driven pulley.

Maybe the other one has more torque.

Mine stalls out if a foot goes down beside the plate. Never tried a goose. Wouldn't even know were to start on scalding it.
