I am not here to judge or condemn, I am here to support & Comfort.

I have been where you are.....Dog with Cancer, 4 children to feed, mid winter and little to no income. I made the decision to Treat with Chemo, my dog had 6 weeks added to her life, it didn't make me feel any better when she died...
Knowing that........

Please know you are not alone.
it is YOUR decision. and a rough one on everyone!

I am available for support anytime. Pm me if you wish.

Well hubby and I discussed it at length. We're going to not do the optional parts of the procedure so it will be more affordable and she will still get the care she needs. And we're going to tell the vet that if the x-ray shows cancer then not to go ahead with the procedure and we will have her put down. Cancer really is the worst case scenario and the best case is that she just has something stuck in her foot. There's a possibility that there's infection in her toes and if there is she'll loose part of her foot. I am choosing not to worry about the worse case. Hubby has the opportunity to get some good overtime hours this month so charging it is an option now.

Snickers is at the vets right now. They called to say that it's a tumor and not something stuck in her foot. They are going to try and save her toe but won't know if that's possible till they get her opened up. Since it is a tumor I am going to have them do the histopathology to screen for cancer. She is going to stay at the vets overnight.

Not neccesarily. At this point they feel they got the tumor. But they are sending a sample to the lab to see if it's cancer. I'm just so glad they didn't have to amputate that I'm going to keep a positive outlook regarding the results. They said by mid next week the results should be in.

I just found out my sweet baby has a mast cell tumor (cancer). She is going to my favorite vet (I used to work for him) in Baltimore 3 hours away on Jan 8th. Friday. He is giving me a very good deal on removing & biopsying it. He is also letting me do a dental cleaning on her for free (while she is still out).

ETA: The tumor is on her back, not her paw, that was something else.
