What would a black assorted heavy be? Of a chicken. No pic this time. It does not look like a barred rock. It might be like a black sex link or a black orplington?

Description noted Atwood's.com Assorted Heavies are the hatchery's choice of heavy Standard breeds and varieties, which have not been sold as specific varieties or included in breed assortments. Most of these breeds and varieties will lay brown eggs.

Leads me to believe they might be mixed breed chickens.

Just looking at that pic I think it’s a Silver Laced Wyandotte (SLW). It looks like it has that feathering coming in and the comb type looks right for that breed. Congrats! I have an SLW and they’re very pretty and in my opinion friendly and my one loves hugs! :)
