I just had 8 chicks hatch out from 2 of the breeding pens this morning. Tonka and Grant have been giving me 100% hatches and the chicks are stamped out like cookie cutter babies. Those pens are also the ones that are laying really well now so most eggs will come from them. I am sure another week or two will see the girls going broody and me crying because the egg supply has dried up. I can never have too many gorgeous Mottled bantam Cochins.

Gotcha! I moved to Kansas from Maine and saw Lewiston so I was wondering! Hope your dance competition went well. I am very excited for these eggs and hopefully a good hatch. I have a couple project pens, one future blue mottled and a mille fleur project pen that both need type introduced and I love the mottled cochins anyway! So I guess I will need to add another pen.....
