[Silly Chickens]

From my 7 hens I got 390 eggs (32.5 dozen) between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31. That was an average of 6.39 eggs a day from 7 girls, I thought they did a great job. Thank you ladies!

Updated for November. November 15th we provided the chickens with additional light in the AM. The additional light is an alarm clock light set for 430 am. We were starting to see the effects of the additional light after about 10 days. Production went up from 2.5 eggs a day to about 3.5 eggs a day from 6 hens.

Update for Nov: 227 eggs from 14 pullets with no supplemental light. Average - 7.6 eggs per day. Not bad!

November with the 14 pullets we got 338 + 1 soft shell. No artifical light or heat. I just hope they keep it up.
