August 14, Take Your Chicken to a Pet Store Day!

I'm sorry, I just thought the thread was about to get bashed. I wasn't trying to be rude, and I really didn't roll my eyes lol. I just thought that face fit.

I think someone started it just for fun. To get people to realize that backyard chicken keeping is becoming popular and a positive thing.

No problem. I'd like to do it just to watch the people in PetSmart point and stare(or point and laugh-whatever)!

Do you just carry it in your arms? Too funny. Too bad you couldn't walk them on a leash, that would be pretty funny. At least I don't THINK you can....

I'm not sure. I'm mighty afraid if I attempted this, I would end up missing a facial feature. I'm not sure any of my birds would take kindly to going into a pet store where other folks bring dogs and cats on a regular basis.
Hmmm...this could result in a lot of chicken related injuries.

No, I think it's cool. Just make sure you were protective eyewear. If the chickens get spooked by another animal, you MAY end up wearing a feathered hat with it's nails firmly attached to your scalp.

Heck I have a little tiny hen that does that to me here if she gets scared.

I could do that too. I have a cute bag that looks like a designer type purse, but it's large and has screen windows and is meant to carry around ferrets, or whatever. I used to use it for my guinea pig. I could stick a Silkie in there and go linger.... I have one that loves to "talk", she makes all kinds of funny sounds, that might be a good one to bring.

I didn't even notice it was a Sunday! Someone didn't think that through very well, lots of pet & feed stores are closed Sundays. My feed store will be closed too. So much for bringing my Silkie.

Although I could probably walk in there any day with her now that I think about it. Bring your duck in on another day!

With the number of dogs who think chickens are chew toys, I would be very hesitant to take one to a pet store unless I had it in a very secure carrier.
