HI, Just wanted to share a short story. August 26th we arrived home from the airport to find one of our Silkies with a 'broken' neck. Told dear hubby to do what is necessary. He couldn't of course. Me neither. Luckily we didn't. Turned out to be 'Wry' neck. Called my reg vet. Who the forwared me to the Provincial Farm Vet. She in turn after some discussion sent out to me a injection called Dexamethasone. We also gave her Poly-Vi-Sol. Seperated her right away of course from her chickmates haha. Look at me now! No head shakes, no tucking my head under my bottom and dif no running around backwards :)

Thanks for sharing, glad you were able to get a good vet to help! She's a beauty she is!!!!:love

I bet..Lol I have no problems giving them to goats, dogs, horses... Never given a chicken one, it would make me a nervous wreck...lol
She is sooo tiny. Scared I was gonna hit a vein or something. but I did it..lol and sure would do it again knowing it would help get her better :)

Excellent! I like to give some yogurt with meals for a while after illness. It provides some extra protein and probiotics, and seems to help with final stages of recovery.
