August Garden Goodies Gift Swap

I wanted to get a picture to post with my notice of receipt but since I'm such a slacker here lately, I figure I'd better go ahead and let babymakes6 know that I got her gift. I got a quart of canned chili and a tote bag. I'm not sure if you meant to do it or not but it is out of the same material as the roll warmer chicken I got from you at chickenstock! And some crayons for my DD. DD and I almost had tug of war over that bag Monday night! I won! And as soon as my step son noticed that it was chili, he wanted to eat it. As in the whole quart. We haven't gotten into that yet but I'm sure it won't last very long with a teenager in the house

Even though I haven't tasted it, I'd still like to get the recipe. I'd love to be able to can some chili

Did I mention how much of a slacker I am. Yours is going out in the morning. I had it all packaged last night and ready to go today then decided I wanted to add one more thing and forgot to bring that one thing with me.

I will give you the recipe for the chili soon. I used my Mom's recipe and added cumin and green chiles to it. When I use it, I just add some hamburger or sausage and some beans (black beans are my favorite!) and heat it up. Hope you like it!

We will probably have it this weekend, if I remember to buy more crackers!! We finished them off a couple night ago on homemade, homegrown chicken noodle soup. Mmmmm.

The last listing on the tracking number said it left Hawaii. I don't know if that is the normal route or not. The post office originally said it should reach the address by (last) Monday. I'll have to check again later when I get home.
