I might as well start at the beginning, I had 9 chicks all under the age of 7 weeks, 6 I had raised from day-olds. We had 2 cockerels (unplanned) and one of them was just relentless in going after the younger pullets. It broke my heart, but because he was starting to peck and scratch me, and because the pullets in his age group favored the other cockerel (I do to😏) I had to give him to a lady down the street. About 2 weeks later, I was still pretty down about saying goodbye to Dragon. I went on BYC to cheer me up, and as usual, there were a lot of threads to chose from, but then I saw it... A blind Amber-link in the west side of the state! She was so cute, so what was I to do but to make a long day-trip to retrieve her. She is the sweetest thing, but she was so, lonely in her quarinte, so, you guys know how chicken math works, I bought two more chicks! They get along great, and last night, Amber became more like an Auntie Amber, she tucked them under her wings for bed😍 They snuggled right in, and it was really hard to separate them for bed in the garage, so I let them sleep together! Tucked back under Auntie Ambers wings, I swear all 3 of them looked so much happier.

She did come from a really good place to, it was kind of like me and Dragon, they knew that the bully hens were causing Amber stress, and Dragon caused me stress, so while both birds were well cared for, they both needed new homes, because the best was wanted for both of them.
