Aural Hematoma Help please!

i worked with a vet that would use buttons sewn on both sides of the ear to clamp it together, to prevent refilling of the hematauma. after a period of time, we would remove the buttons. (local anathesia).  to prevent reoccurrance, make sure the dog is treated for fleas, ticks and against flies that would casuse hm to constantly shake his head also mites. i had a boxer that had both ears this way in spite of all treatments. he was just a strong head shaker.. our female boxer never had.
Yeah, I've done that too. Works well.

My current boss makes an S shaped incision on the inside of the ear then places mattress sutures all around the ear to force the layers together. The ear crumples more I think, but it works quickly and is easy to do.

So it looks better today, that's good, and she's not yelping about it anymore either. So what about compression? Would that be good or bad for her?

If it wasn't full of fluid, compression is the goal, to put the layers of the ear back together to minimize scarring, which leads to the crumpled effect.

Oh okay, so it shouldn't be compressed if there is still fluid in there? Thank You all for your advice by the way!

Compression will likely hurt.

Honestly, having your vet see it would do a world of good. Sometimes they get infected too, and like I said, there is usually an underlying cause (ear infection is super common) that needs to be treated. And without treatment, she will end up with a crumpled ear.
