how much do i feed aureomycin to my chickens? I have around 150 chickens, I don't understand the directions on the bag of medication?

Welcome to BYC. Why are you needing to medicate your chickens? This is to help prevent enteritis, CRD (MG) and mycoplasma synovitis in chickens. In the US, they have taken most antibiotics off the market, and they are mostly available through a vet. This is due to antibiotic resistance from overuse. If your chickens are healthy, there is no need to use the mdeication. Some use amprollium medicate feed for chickens to help prevent coccidiosis. That is still available.

The directions in this link are confusing as well, but here is all I could find:

WHAT ARE YOU TREATING THEM FOR? Or is it for weight gain?
You can only get that thru a vet now. It was taken of the of store shelves and only veterinarians can sell it. I have a bag but you should follow the directions on your bag. If youi got it from a vet, the vet should have gave you instructions. Ask your vet.

If you post a picture of the bag you bought and I will help you with the dosing.

It was removed from store shelves almost 2 yrs ago. It was being abused by pig farmers and others for rapid growth. The growth hormones in swine are arrested when the bodies fights off infections, thus taking longer to maximize growth in ample amout of time profit/practical wise. Farmers were supplemental feeding antibiotics and creating a resistance to Chlortracycline compounds. PLUS THERE IS A WITHDRAW TIME FOR EDIBLE EGGS from chickens for human consumption. Dangerous residual factors. My vet said when we bought our.. ONLY GIVE IT TO ROOSTERS- NO EGG LAYERS OR MEAT BIRDS.
Unless the OP bought the bag 2 yrs ago or lives abroad of our laws, the Vet should have provided a dosage.
Our Vet prints off dosages on every "Vet Only" product we buy from her.

I forgot to mention.. I'm getting too old..lol-
amprolium which is the chemical in the Corid product, is now used in most medicated feeds. Chlortracycline (aureomycin) was banned in feeds as well.

Back to my rocking chair for a nap.
