Hi all
I've been using the forum as a resource for a little while now but thought I'd join up rather than lurking in the background.
My main reason for using the forum was because my chickens stopped providing me with eggs and I couldn't figure out why.
The long and the short of it was that they had worms and a bit of feather lice plus two of them have had scaly leg mite for ages and I just can't budge it. So after worming and dusting them they seem to be getting on with the job, but the leg mites are still persisting.
I also built them a new coop that was a bit bigger and also made the job of collecting eggs and cleaning the coop a whole lot easier.
I have six birds- two Australorps, two Australorp X's and two Isa Browns that we adopted. The Australorps are by far my favourite birds and this spring I intend to get a couple more to keep us going with a regular supply of eggs.
Cheers
Rod
