My rooster is a black Australorp and I have a white Easter Egger hen and I want to try incubating their eggs. At least I think that is what she is. I was supposed to be getting Ameraucanas but this one has no muff but lays blueish eggs. The other is salt and pepper colored with a muff but lays greenish yellow eggs. So I figure they are Easter eggers. Anyway I was wondering if I get chicks from these 2 if the eggs from a hen would be brown or a differnet color. Just curious I will probably try it no matter what just to see what I get.

If the hen lays blue eggs the offspring would most likely lay green.
If hen lays a blue/green or green egg offspring would probably lay green or brown.
There can be hints of what she would lay but no guarantee since you don't know for sure what egg color genes the hen carries.

Ok thanks! I am excited to see what happens! My rooster only mates with her and my New Hampshire at this time...plus the 3 Barnevelders sometimes. So I am limited at this time on what I can try to hatch. I am hoping he expands his horizons
