Australorp Feather ReGrowth

Lulu hatched in August 2020. By the time we bought her from a local feed store in March 2021, she had been badly pecked by other hens and was missing most of the feathers on her back.

From March to September, she had absolutely no feather regrowth. However, things started rapidly improving in October when we started her on Feather Fixer and a weekly dose of Poultry Cell, and I’m pleased to share that she is well on her way to becoming a beautiful australorp!

Hopefully these photos will be an encouragement to anyone else who worries that their chicken might always be bald!!!

March 2022 update- after a full winter molt Lulu is fully feathered and looking her best!
