Hi. I have an 12 week old Australorp hen that seems to be having seizures in the morning. Poor thing. I did notice that her comb and wattle are not as advanced as the other hen and not as red. She has these episodes but otherwise is fine, eating, drinking, and socializing. I feel so bad for her and not sure what to do as I am new to this. I also wonder if her eggs (if she produces) will be ok to consume.??? Thanks for any help I can get.

Seizures may occur in all animals, and for many reasons. Others in the past have described seizures that come and go in their chickens. I probably would not try medicine to treat these, as when phenobarbital or similar medicines are started, they have to be continued for life. I'm not sure that a vet would even attempt to medicate, but I would not for a chicken. I would probably make sure they are safe, and just try to let the chicken live as normal as possible, or euthanize it. The eggs should be fine to eat, but I would not hatch any or pass along the genetic problems.
Some diseases may cause neurological symptoms. Head injuries, wry neck, genetics, and some vitamin deficiencies can. Mareks disease and other infections that cause neuro symptoms may cause seizure-like symptoms.
If you could post a video to YouTube, and post a link to it here, it might be helpful.
