In the Brooder
This chick is 10 weeks old and I’m still not sure if boy or girl. Any help would be appreciated!

I'd say hen. I'd also say not pure Australorp. She should have all black feet and no white feathers if a pure Australorp.
Definatly a hen. But not pure breed australorp.
Any idea what she might be crossed with? She almost has a little beard of feathers but I’m not sure what breeds are bearded besides araucanas?I like Australorp crosses. They lay well, forage well, are relatively hardy, mostly mellow and some of them go broody. Lots go broody, actually. I've had 3 this year and one full blood Australorp go broody last year.
Olive Egger, I'm guessing. Is the hen next to her also a "Black Australorp?"Any idea what she might be crossed with? She almost has a little beard of feathers but I’m not sure what breeds are bearded besides araucanas?
Does that mean she’ll possibly lay coloured eggs?Olive Egger, I'm guessing. Is the hen next to her also a "Black Australorp?"
Dark Brahma? She is very pretty, but not at all what a Dark Brahma should look like. And yes, colored eggs if that is what she is!Does that mean she’ll possibly lay coloured eggs?
No, the one next to her is a Brahma![]()
