I bought these older chicks from a guy and now i am thinking they may be Roos. I am trying to live under the radar, and wanted to see if I had better luck here with advice. Any thoughts....they shift around so you can refere to them as A1 (the one with the pronounced white feathers) and A2 (the one without the bright white feathers).

They are best guess around 12 weeks old.

Thank you in advance.

Oh, they do look like males. Larger combs and wattles, thick legs, and I'm seeing the beginnings of the bigger tail feathers.......

Yeah sorry they do look like boys, but keep them for longer and see if they cooockkodoodle

I've heard astralorps get pretty large combs to begin with. I'd keep a close eye on those wattles, I'd say if they don't grow much larger you might just have pullets.

Are those white flight feathers common in Australorps?

Yes, Aussie's are black and white when they hatch, but they do turn all black as they grow.

Also, you have yourself a set of roosters there if, in fact, they are only 12 weeks old.

Those aren't mine in the picture...I asked because I have an Australorp with those two white feathers and was beginning to wonder if it was really an Australorp...it is. I just thought they never had those until I saw these. Thanks!!

Oops! Wasn't paying attention. LOL

Anyway, for the OP, they are roosters.
