Just adopted the girl on the right and wondered if she was pure Australorp or if she was crossed with something. And any ideas on age?

This photo shows her general conformation:

She has the dark brown eyes of an Australorp:

She's a little wary of me but very curious and eager to be integrated into my current flock:

She has smooth dark legs, pure black feathers, appears to be molting, hasn't laid an egg for me yet. I'm curious about breed only because I want to know about her cold/heat tolerance and hear that Australorps do well in the cold.

Thanks for any help!

To me she looks mixed.

Her overall stance is more upright than the Aussies I've seen, and she looks lighter bodied. Her black also seems underlain with brown, not pure black with the green/purple sheen.

Regardless, she looks like she'll do fine with cold weather. Big floppy combs suffer the most.

Agree, she is very pretty though, but yea she looks like a mix, a good mix though

Definitely has pink feet and white skin, so Australorp cross, not Jersey Giant. She has now lost all of those beautiful tail feathers and now there's just fluff back there. I can't wait until she grows new ones so I can see how she looks with her full set

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Re: feather color
These pictures don't do the feathers justice, most of them have a purple/green sheen. I think the brownish color is the lighting, I'll get more pics when she grows the tail feathers back.
