Hi again everyone,

We wanted to ask your advice about our two youngest australorps. Being that they are young, we are trying to work out if they are pullets or cockerels?

And also how old they actually are? We suspect the age we were told when we got them is considerably off from their actual age.

The first two photos are of the same bird (named Midge) and the third and fourth are of the same bird too (named Loopa).

As always, any help is greatly appreciated 😁

I don’t know much about this kind of thing. But I think you have 2 pullets there. Good luck!

They look like pullets, maybe 3 to 4 months old? And I think what @Silkie Princess is saying is that Australorps have red combs. @TheOddOneOut, could these birds be Ayam Cemani cross's?
We're new to chicken flocks so I'm not sure. We were assured that all 5 of our chickens are pure breed australorps, but I can't be certain of anything. They have small combs but only one has some pink starting to show.

Those sad liars🙄 maybe though it was a generational thing? Like every 4 gen. One chickens had a black comb
