Hi! New chicken mom here, first post, wondering if my Australorp is a roo? Will be 7 weeks in two days. Those tail feathers have me nervous! Comb isn’t red yet, behavior is on the skittish side. It’s my only Aussie so nothing to compare to. What do you think?

Hello! I think you have a pullet, based on age and lack of redness in the face. With my experience with Australorps, the girls tend to feather out fast while the boys grow slow but redden up quicker. Hopefully if you get a cockerel, you are able to keep him or find a good home for them. I've had a couple good Aussie boys from that breed, they are on the docile side.

Side note I love your license plate wall, we are big on classic cars over here so that aesthetic always seems to appeal to me haha
Thank you for the good info, I was leaning towards pullet because of the lack of red but since I can't keep a roo I wanted to be able to contact the guy I got them from to exchange as early as possible since he said he'd exchange if any end up being roos.

And thanks, yes, we love the car/antique/junk look over here! :)
