I have four 12 week old australorps. There is one that doesn’t have the full glossy green/purple sheen feathers. Could she be a different breed? If so, any ideas what breed she is?

The only other breed she could be is a black sex link. Can I see a picture of her and the others as chicks?
I can’t remember which one of the chicks is the Pullet in question. I’ve been researching and I thought it could be either a black sexlink or a Jersey giant?!? But really I have no idea. And appreciate any help.

She looks like a black australorp to me. She is young, she still has juvenile feathers. She will still change as she grows... Oh an BTW black jersey giants DO NOT have feathered feet , chickenlittle21 is incorrect. They look almost identical to australorps actually. Very little difference in appearance. Both breeds also have black feathers with a green sheen to them in sunlight

Actually from those chick pics, I can tell that chick number 2 must b the chick in question. Looks like a jersey giant to me. Australorps have white bellies when they r baby chicks. Number 2 is probably the one in question.

you have a very good eye, great catch on that! I wouldn’t have ever really noticed. Thank you!

Per roysfarm.com
"The legs of Australorp chicken are black, the bottoms being pinkish-white. But the legs of Jersey Giant chicken are black, and the bottoms of their feet is yellow."
