Australorps Breeding for SOP and Exhibition Thread

Pics
Hey, I got a trio of austrolorps from Bruce Sherman in Cali. I am trying to get the eggs to be fertile through AI, since mine are too fluffy to mate, and I want to exhibit them in a few weeks. I am hoping the few eggs I sat a few days ago are fertile! Anyways here's pics.

Hey guys can somebody tell me if my black australorp is a pure breed i noticed this strange color that came out of its back.

Joel,
That is called red leakage, it happens sometimes, and is not prefered for showing definitely. It does not always transfer to the young but that is the chance you take when breeding. Some old timers will tell you that it is good for breeding, but there is nothing good about red leakage in the APA Standard of Perfection under Australorps.

Joel,
As far as being purebred, do you know the parents, or did you breed the bird. Does everything else look good about the bird according to the APA SOP on Australorps. That is the call that you are going to have to make.

Nate,
I am very anxious to see how your birds are judged on the left coast or mid west. Let us know. The Bruce Sherman line has been around for quite a while. I prefer a longer back, and a 40 degree tail angle, but it could just be the way the bird is standing.
