Australorps on Florida?

Hi! I am new here and am getting my first chicks soon. I live in Florida and am wondering if Australorps are a good choice. They have black feathers, but they also come from hot Australia, so I don't know. Would Austra Whites be better? These chicks will be pets, so I don't want the flightiness of White Leghorns. Thank you guys so much.

Hi and welcome! We have two Black Australorps and they are some of the most personable members of our flock and love when we come out to spend time with them. I am in the midwest so our climate doesn't get as hot for a sustained period that it does in Florida, but when it did get in the high 90s and triple digits here they did well in the shade and in the shaded run and coop that has a fan present.
