These guys are about 4 or 5 days old. They were sold to me as Silver Laced Wyandottes at a local feed store, however I'm not sure since I got them home and looked at pictures online - they look like little Australorps to me, but I have very little experience with chickens. I would greatly appreciate any help!!!

Thanks!!!

I rescend my previous statement. I think they may be SLW... they have a lot more white on their head than my australorps did as chicks.

I know NOTHING!! Don't listen to me...

Australorps, they have the white wing feathers. They are great, by far my favorite kind of chicken. They get a bit bigger than the SLW but they are so much more mellow in my opinion. A few of mine had that much white on their heads at that age.

Those are Aussies. I have 8 of them. My SLW was very distinctly marked with a silverish grey color on them and marks on the back and face.

Edit: if you look at your picture of the chicks from the back..see the white bottoms> Those are aussie...the SLW is a silver grey color...also the legg and feet color is different. The SLW is a yellow/orange leg and the aussie is grey/black leg. The two on the right do not have the black legs in your next to last photo but they do not have the markings of a SLW either so I would go with aussie.

Here is a SLW chick at 2 days old

They sure do look like my BA chicks that hatched a week ago! They legs seem to be a little lighter, but sometimes my have black legs with lighter colored feet and then change over. Also, mine have the white wing feathers as chicks, but feather out fully black.

I know nothing aout SLW chicks, but these look almost identical to my BA's

The smaller/lighter chicks are MF d'uccles but the others are BAs
