I LOVE my Black Australorps! They aren't usually super snuggle like my Barred Rock or Olive Eggers, but the are kind, docile and sweet. They love being pet, just aren't so crazy about being picked up. I actually just ordered more. Super sweet girls. Definitely a breed I will always keep on my flock.

thank you so much I had 3 barred rocks but one got killed by my husky and one jest died today July 4 2018 she tore her wind pipe but they are 3 months old and I hope the last one survives thanks for replying

I did a research paper on them and apparently they are very friendly, even the roosters

I have been breeding and raising Black Australorps since 2013 and they are still a must have chicken on my farm .

I concur. I have several. "Jumbo" & almost pinkish brown eggs. Reliable layers too.

In general they are an easy going friendly breed. Individuals personality can differ with some being more friendly than others.
