Hi everybody,

I have a 2 1/2 year old austrolorp who hasn't laid an egg since August. She went through what I believe was her first molt at around that time as did a couple others in my flock. Everyone has started laying again except her. She seems very healthy in every way. She's reddened up and seems like she should be laying, but just isn't. She was a really regular layer up until she stopped. Anything I can do to get her laying again? Is she just done? Anything wrong? Thanks for any and all input!

Has there been a recent event that may have caused stress? That is the only thing I can think of that could incure a hen to stop laying completely.
Sorry.

I appreciate the input. No stress that I'm aware of. She's still the happy go lucky sweet hen that she's always been. I'm kind of at a loss...

Assuming she has acces to layer feed and fresh water all of the time, the only thing I would know of is stress. You can try putting apple cider vinegar in her water. It helps with stress.

At what age do austrolorps quit laying? Anyone know? At 2 1/2, that may be it.
