No matter how this is solved, it's going to hurt a lot of people for a long, long time. Many of these people are innocent victims that are only guilty of accepting a job that would provide their families with a very good salary and benefits. My opinion is that most of the blame needs to go back to the top management and also the unions. These people have been severly misled for a long time now.
Since this could have a major impact on big oil, why don't we have congress suggest that the windfall profits from the last two quarters fund the big 3 auto survival. The profits from the last two quarters is more than the 25 billion they are saying they need.
