Auto door light sensor

I live in the woods and when leaves are on the trees, it's generally darker than it is elsewhere. So obviously more light when no leaves. I have a window in my coop, and I was told to face the window toward the South. I was wondering, with the light sensor of an autodoor, is there a preferred direction to face it? TIA

Face your automatic door where it isn't likely to be hit with flood lights or car head lights that if left on for a couple of minutes would trigger your door to open!

I just bought the MaticoopX because it will show you the current sunlight level and let you set what sunlight level triggers the open and close.
