Auto turner vs turning by hand hatch success

Well it may not matter. My tracking for the eggs finally updated. They were gathered Sunday, shipped Monday, due to arrive Thursday (now Friday) They were shipped from Ohio to Utah. Tracking says they just arrived in Iowa. I'm not sure if they'll get here by the arrival date, or if they'll be too old/handled too roughly.

They should still be viable..... sometimes up to 2 weeks and more. My advice would be to skip that 24 hour egg standing thing and just put them straight in the incubator. Think about it, it's not like the egg is going to form right away if you put it in the incubator, it's only 24 hours and leaving them in there would have already helped with the worry of egg cell detached thingy. Just stand them up in the incubator for 24 hours, and then if you would rather incubate them flat side down then go ahead and do that.

handling is another story, no matter how long they were in transit it's crap shoot.

Yeah, I was hoping where it's only a state away it wouldn't be too rough of a trip.

I'll try that. I have some egg cartons hanging around I can use to tuck them in. I thought they *had* to be tucked away within ten days or else they were unlikely to hatch. And I can't exactly complain to the lady I bought them from, it's not her fault they decided they needed to see the world.

Nah.....after 10-14 days degradation will start to increase.
For shipped eggs it might be less, many variables.
Read up on how to inspect, handle, and incubate shipped eggs.
Many get them started in bator fat end up and don't turn for a few days if air cells are loose and moving.
How old were they when they shipped?

They should have been collected the day they shipped, or the day before.
