Question about auto turners and geese eggs.
Is it harmful to stand the eggs on their ends in the auto turner, or do they need to be laid on their side?
Just got new incubators with auto turners and need to know.
Thanks.
Think my last batch all died because the eggs were loose on the bottom and rolled around a few times when I misted them.
Looking for any clues and suggesstions I can get.
Thanks
Clay

What kind of turner is it? In what incubator? The yellow ones for hovabators have special goose racks, but I wouldn't reccomend using turners, they don't seem to work with waterfowl, they are best just hand turned 3 times a day.

It is a hovabator, but I just have the regular racks. Fortunately, I have an extra one right now and I put all the geese eggs in there and will turn them by hand. That is pretty much what I wanted to know.
Thanks.
Clay

Hovabator is to short for goose eggs to stand up. They would be to close to the heat. They use to sell an expansion ring to make it taller and then you could use their goose turners and it would work... I think they stopped making the expansion ring though....
