I got this:

The birds have to push the lever to get water into the little bowls. I am afraid they cant figure that out. This may be a little silly but. In the back of my mind I worry they wont get en enough water.

Who has used this water and did your birds figure it out ok?
This is being used with Pigeons. Here are some pics of the setup.

I dont know but it looks very nice. I would think most birds would be able to learn but I know nothing about pigeons.

Pigeons are pretty smart at figuring things out. I'd think if you can jiggle it enough so they see a droplet of water form on the spout they'd figure out pretty quick that if they peck it they will get water...

Wow me and my hubby were going get that set up for our Chickens. I did not know they have to push a lever to get water hmmmmmmm.. I wonder if they can figure it out. Does it fill up with water only if its pushed? I am glad I came across your post. Got me wondering i hope someone comes along to let us know. MM should state that. Keep us posted if your birds know how to push the lever

From classic psychology experiments I know it is common for birds (and specifically pigeons) to be trained to peck a lever for treats. They can be trained to do ALL sorts of elaborate things for food, pecking a lever isn't too difficult. Although I can't be sure, I would assume they would also learn to do this for water. The set up looks very nice, good luck and let us know how it goes!

I think I know these birds pretty well. And everything I know tells me that they will figure it out no problem. But cant help but be paranoid. I will watch them and see what happens.
