I just thought i would show some pics of the automatic watering system I installed over the weekend. Sure beats filling waterers with a water hose. It is complete with shut off and spicket for draining during the freezing temps in winter. I am still working on the coop in the pics but it was screened in this evening. I just didn't have time to get any pics because it was dark.

The shut off

I used a spade bit to drill holes through the rafters to support the pipe and it's weight

feedback is welcomed thanks

it is currently operating on 6 pounds of pressure. i used a senniger pressure reducer i purchased from ebay. i am running 13 plasson breeder drinkers right now and planning to add 4 more to the next coops. my duck pens have already been plumbed and will get their plasson drinkers when i get my replacement parts in. the duck will have a pool for bathing water and a plasson drinker for constant clean drinking water. i also installed a spicket just before the pressure reducer in my poultry yard so i could use the water hose to fill the pools easier.

Good. 6 psi is the bottom of the pressure range.
I was concerned that you were using something over 8 psi which is out of the opertating range of this equipment.

I was unable to see if you were using the ballast bottles. You may encounter difficulty operating the 2103250 Drinker without them for large ducks.

Yes. Each of the drinkers is equipped with a ballast bottle. I have used these before on a temporary set up using only gravity. They worked well except for the fact that if it is an open system, meaning you are using an open top bucket to supply water to the drinker, clogs will develop in the drinker from leaves, droppings, and algae. I spoke to someone who uses a similar setup before ordering my pressure reducer. I absolutely think that this is the way to go when watering confined flocks. Money well spent.
