Automatic chicken doors

Does anyone recommend these? Has any one built their own?

I was just reading about the Foys automatic doors. (I hope that's correct) it seems to work great, and I'd love to have one to try out. (I saw the post somewhere on this site, and I'll try to find it).

It was Foy's automatic doorkeeper. There wasn't a lot of info in the original post, but I'm sure you could find a distributor online. Good luck!

We have two automatic pop door openers. One is from Foy's and was over $300 and the other we built with the Add-A-Motor. They both work equally well but I would recommend the Add-A-Motor due primarily to the price point and the fact that Foy's customer service leaves a bit to be desired.

We are working on one using a auto actuator arm. Having its own battery is nice, and its on a remote - so I can open and shut from the house with a auto key fob. The guys at the auto accessory shop were very helpful. We haven't figured out if we can put it on a timer yet to open and shut when we're not home (shift work). Still working out the kinks. Good luck!
